lastword.page

One sentence. Everyone sees it. Until someone pays to replace it.

lastword.page is a single line of text on a single page. Anyone can pay $3.99 to replace it with their own. The moment the payment clears, the old text is gone and yours is what everyone on the site is looking at, at the same time, all over the world.

It stays until the next person decides they have something better to say. That could be twenty minutes. That could be four seconds. Nobody knows, and that’s the fun of it.

How it works

Press the button, type up to 300 characters, pick a color and a font, pay. There’s no account, no username, no comments and no likes. The only way to respond to a text is to replace it, and that costs the same $3.99 it cost the person before you.

Every visitor is looking at the same sentence at the same moment. The number at the top is how many of them there are right now. The record at the bottom is the longest anyone has managed to hold the wall.

What people put on it

There is no theme and no audience in particular. Businesses, families, friends, teenagers, retirees, people who can’t sleep. If you have one sentence for the internet, this is where it goes.

Why it exists

Most of the internet is a feed: endless, ranked, personal to you. This is the opposite. One thing, the same for everyone, gone as soon as someone cares enough to replace it. It’s a small, silly way to be seen, and a small, silly way to lose the spotlight to a stranger a minute later.

The rules, briefly

Everything else is fair game. The FAQ covers the details, and the terms cover the rest. If you like where this comes from, read the story of one-thing websites.
